Introduction: All around the world, cardiovascular disease is the main reason of mortality and disability, due to importance of teacher’s role in health promotion. This research aimed at determining the Health Belief Model constructs to prevent cardiovascular disease among boys high schools teachers in Deloran in 2014.
Materials & methods: This cross-sectional study performed among 78 of 10th grade teachers in Dehloran city which setected by census sampling method. The research’s questionnaire included demographic information and items of six HBM constructs , which its validity has carried out by expert panel of health education. Meanwhile to determine reliability Cronbach’s alpha coefficient separately for each component usedand the Cronbach's alpha range was from 0.64-0.89. The collected data analyzed by SPSS version16 using cross suitable statistical tests.
Findings: the average of teachers' BMI was 24.84. seventy five percent of participants were experts and 91% were married. Average score of cues to ation was 1.47 ± 0.32 and self- efficacy was 1.84 ± 0.69 . There was a significant correlation between the perceived suseptibility, job experience with self-efficacy, marital status with perceived benefits (P<0.05).
Discussion & conclusions: The results revealed components status had undesirable in cues to action and action and self-efficacy. This important issue indicates the necessity of planning to improve the self-efficacy and cues to action among teachers.
